Independent, Not An Operator
This site compares haunted walks, cemetery visits, vampire tours and pub crawls in New Orleans, and that is the whole job. Nobody here carries a lantern, tells a story in a courtyard, or pours a drink. The companies behind the 14 cards, Tour Orleans, Haunted History Tours, New Orleans Ghost Adventures, French Quarter Phantoms, The Witches Brew Tour Company and the rest, are separate businesses with their own guides and schedules. Booking and payment happen entirely on each operator's live listing.
How This Site Gets Paid
Each book button points to a live listing that carries this site's partner code. The 14 tours compared here, from the St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 Official Walking Tour to the ghost walks and haunted pub crawls, are booked through live listings on Viator and GetYourGuide. When a reader books through a tagged link, the platform shares part of its fee with this site. The price at checkout is the same one you would see by finding the listing on your own. There are no hotel links, display ads or other income streams on these pages.
Commission is the only revenue. When a booking comes through a tagged link, the platform pays a small percentage and the tour price stays the same for you. There are no banner ads, no paid placements and no sponsored write-ups anywhere on the site. The networks currently used are Viator, GetYourGuide, and GuruWalk, which carries one verified free walking tour. Any future network will be named here before its first link appears.
Haunted New Orleans That Costs Nothing
Plenty of the city's haunted scenery is free. Walking the streets of the French Quarter, studying the ironwork and shuttered facades from the sidewalk, or pausing at the fence outside the LaLaurie Mansion costs nothing, and many tours show these same exteriors. Where a site charges admission, or where St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 requires a licensed guide under the Archdiocese's rules, that purchase is strictly between you and the attraction. A tour with no live listing to check against never earns a card here, and when a free option genuinely beats a paid one, the free option gets the mention.
What No Payment Buys
- Inclusion. A tour earns a card only if it is bookable now, run by a company that actually operates in New Orleans, and shown with the same rating and review count its own live listing displays.
- Ranking. No tour buys its position. Cards sit in their categories by review count, which is why the St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 Official Walking Tour, at 4,684 reviews, tops the cemetery section. Operators cannot pay to climb the page.
- Accuracy in what we report. Every figure on a card, from the 479 reviews behind the St. Louis Cemetery No. 3 walk to the 2,541 behind the Ghost and Vampire tour, matches what the live listing publishes. When a listing names no operator, the card says so instead of guessing.
- What did not make the cut. The same tour listed twice under different names, walks with too few reviews to judge them by, and anything rated too weak to recommend. What remains is a deliberate 14.
Where Every Figure Comes From
Each rating, review count and duration on this site is taken from the tour's live booking page without adjustment. Nothing is rounded or weighted to favor one operator over another. Prices shift with dates and ticket options, so the live page is the honest place to check the current price before booking.
